Guess what Mayans... IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!

How did we spend it? We went to Enchanted Kingdom!

Together with Steve, Kimchi, Paulo and his trusty Manang, we enjoyed the "end of the world" phenomena at a theme park!

Don't forget to capture the kids at heart!

It rained, but that didn't stop us from riding the Space Shuttle multiple times!

Flying away aboard the Flying Fiestaaaa!

Some adrenalin rush c/o the Viking ride!

While on the Ferris Wheel

It feels good to be a kid again.

This was one of the best days in my life to date!

Life Lessons in Less than a Year

Posted by MKatBautista at 4:46 PM 0 comments
This blog is about what I experienced in the past months with friends. How can one concept of problem be experienced by a circle of friends in different situations and in such a short span of time? Is it a curse? A trend? Is it our fate? Who knows?

You know what they say:

"Experience is the best teacher."

"A Cheater is always a cheater."

and

"Trust takes a lifetime to build but only seconds to destroy."

I'd agree with two of them there but would strongly object with one and will do my best for the rest of my life to prove that THAT one quote above is not entirely applicable to everyone.

After experiencing such pain of being left by the person she thought she'd spend forever with, my friend realized that a broken heart hurts 10,000x more than what we read in quotes when you've actually experienced it. That's her first heartbreak from a first love she thought would be the last.

It was THE almost perfect (since there's no perfect) relationship anyone could have. Almost 6years in a relationship they thought would last forever, or SHE thought. But in a snap it was all gone. The guy found someone else from his workplace, easy as that. She's left single, trust destroyed in seconds after finding out about the Other girl, future plans crushed to pieces, and worst, her heart broken.

Funny how people who can love with a pure heart be the ones who actually get their hearts broken. Shame on those people who hurt them. SHAME ON YOU.

SHAME ON ME.

I say that because I myself have done that. Hurt people I love. How can I love them if I hurt them? It's unreasonable to say you love a person with all your heart but you're able to cause him/her the greatest pain he/she thought you'd never do. These people trusted you with the most fragile thing they could ever entrust with anyone and all you do is hurt them. What a SHAME.

How bout listening to the other side of the story? Lack of time? Not happy anymore? Don't know why it happened? BULLSHIT. The other side doesn't matter with reasons like that.

The people who hurt you have one thing in common: PRIDE. One more thing: COWARDICE. Need I say more? Guess I've said enough. I won't meddle deeper into it.

Another friend of mine who's experienced being the "bad" guy learned that the hardest part in admitting you've done wrong and paying for the hurt you caused the person you love is actually REALIZING how much damage you've caused and how DETERMINED you are to win back the trust you once had so whole.

It may never be the same again, but the faith in making it right is the next best thing. This can only be done through compromise. Both parties should work on it. But if only one of you is willing. Then it's probably time to let go.

How bout those people who just don't get it? Those who enjoy making their life complicated? Can you blame your heart from falling for a person just because he's the one closest to you? What will you do to those people willing to love you without complications? Can't you just learn from other people's experience?

I guess it's the adrenalin rush that excites people to give in to temptations. Not knowing how much consequences they're putting themselves into.

An Enchanted MisAdventure

Posted by MKatBautista at 2:53 PM 0 comments
My office friends and I planned a getaway to Enchanted Kingdom in one of our days off. So we searched how to get there weeks before and got all too excited with it that out of all the people we invited, only four of us went on with it. That’s me and my boyfriend Steve, then Ley and Nor (my office friends).

In the van on the way to Sta. Rosa, I was already imagining myself getting on all those free rides (inclusive in the entrance), getting wet and having fun! The last time I ever went to Enchanted Kingdom was summer vacay before starting college (that was also the last) and here I am 8yrs later wondering what changed and how to spend enjoying every bit of it. Little did I know that my friends are thinking the same (Excited much?). We even brought extra shirts coz we were sure we’d all get wet from the rides.

Anyway, we arrived at Waltermart Sta.Rosa and were told that the shuttle to Enchanted Kingdom is just around the corner. On our way there, the tricycle drivers were already telling us not to go anymore because Enchanted Kingdom is closed. We ignored them at first, thinking they were just trying to ruin our excitement but when we got to the place where the shuttle was supposed to be, the security guard  in that area told us the info. Enchanted Kingdom is closed for outsiders and  is rented by a private company on that very day. That is, the Yuchengco Group of Companies. WHAT?!? ARE YOU SURE?! !@#$#@!

Look at our faces, we seem so happy as if this was what we planned. ^_^

We didn’t want to waste the time and effort that caused us to get there so we decided to go somewhere else. We ended up going to Nuvali, one of the closest pasyalan in Sta.Rosa. Though the ambiance gave us a Serendra/UP Techno Hub/IT Park feel, we managed to have little fun watching the hundreds of Koi fishes fed by other visitors under the scorching heat of the sun!

The little child in Steve, enjoying the Kois. :)

It was lunchtime and our stomachs were already growling its way to our throats, there weren’t much choice of restaurants we could pig out on (though we saw a resto called Pig Out but would also pig out the funds in our wallets, hehe!), we ended up eating at ClawDaddy.

Since Tagaytay is nearby (yeah, NEARBY), we thought of going there so as not to waste our get ups and excitement. We thought of eating BULALO (the food best known in Tagaytay) there and go sight-seeing.

Picnic Grove, Tagaytay

We played Kokology in between our trips and while waiting for the scrumptious BULALO feast!

Though our original plan did not push through, we still enjoyed the day and made the most out it.
A perfect example for time well spent.

Hot Air Balloon Festival

Posted by MKatBautista at 8:54 PM 0 comments
We went to the much talked and much awaited festival this love month which is the Hot Air Balloon Festival held at Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. We were accompanied by 2 other couple friends Kat&Eric and Marianne&JR. It was such a superb experience!

First, we all met in Eastwood at 11pm Friday coz we all planned to play bowling first then straight to the bus terminal to Pampanga at dawn coz the schedule of the Hot Air Balloon starts at 5am. We wouldn't wanna be late for the launch of them balloons!

Played bowling at 12am, finished around 1:30am then ate buffet breakfast for 150pesos at Somethin' Fishy then straight to the bus terminal at Victory Liner, EDSA, Cubao.

Took the 4am trip to Dau, Pampanga. Slept the whole trip since we were all full and needed to recharge for the festival. At Dau by 5am, rode a tricycle to the jeep terminal to Clark Freeport Zone then jeep to the freeport zone and VOILA! We're at the HOT AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL!

We bought our tickets at the jeep terminal by the way, for the same price of P150. So when we arrived at the Freeport Zone, we didn't have to join the box office line to buy the tickets. We got in right away. Yay!

BUT, unfortunately, due to the jeep's long detour to get us there, we were only able to catch a few hot air balloons flown away. >__<

Tis okay, we enjoyed the other exciting things in store at the festival, like the kite flying, the car drifting, the sky diving, para-gliding and many more!

Check out them kites all over the sky!

Our day in U.K.

Posted by MKatBautista at 11:01 PM 1 comments
*Ukay-ukay - the term used for places that sell 2nd hand goods sold at their lowest prices.

My long awaited shopping day with my office friends finally happened! Ley, Sally and I went to a U.K. Shopping Spree! We fondly call Ukay-ukay the term U.K to give it a sossy feel. Besides, some of the goods come from U.K. anyway. You have to be very meticulous and patient in choosing what to buy. It can be an arm exercise, coz you'll be hauling each and every hanger on the rack. Mind you, not all Ukay finds are from previous owners, most of the time they are outdated goods from known stores abroad shipped to the Philippines, like clothes, bags and shoes from Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, and even from the States and Europe. You can even find clothes that still have their tags on.

This is the crowd you'll in see in all Ukay stores. The stores we went to included Ermita, Avenida and Morayta, all in Manila. We didn't want to go that far since we're all from Manila. Sally had a class for her Graduate course at Philippine Normal University so she was only able to be with us in one store along Ermita.Other places that are famous for their Ukay stores are Tagaytay and Baguio.

This is Ley hauling over the blouses for only P70.

Here's a blouse she checked out but didn't end up buying.

I love Snoopy and here's my great Snoopy find! It even has a tag!
A sign that it wasn't owned by anyone yet! For only P70!

Ukay-ukay is one of best places you can shop at when you're in a budget. You'll end up with great finds and signature brands if you're just patient in going through all those racks.

Till next shopping spree!

Girls Day Out! (Wensha Spa)

Posted by MKatBautista at 12:17 AM 2 comments
Oh it's been ages since I last went out with a girlfriend. This time it's Ivy, my college barkada.

Today's the Feast of the Black Nazarene but I'm no devotee so yeah, this blog ain't about it. I made it a point to relax and take the time off for some girl bonding after all the stress and headache from the holidays (YES, i experienced stress from the xmas/new year vacay).

Anyhoo, the original plan was to just eat out and watch a movie until Ivy came up with a better plan... and that's to check out the services of Wensha Spa, I got all too excited since I've always wanted to get a full body massage and be in a Spa(I've never been into one). She wanted to relax on her day off and what better plan it is to go to a SPA!!!

The service we took was a full body massage, from head to toe which includes using other amenities like the jacuzzi and the buffet! For only 680pesos consumable for 6hrs. It was SUPERB! That's where we had lunch and lounged around the dining area while watching ASAP and waiting for our turn in the massage area. We were given robes, a towel and our own lockers. The locker key costs P2,000 if you lose it so better wear it with your life. HaH! It's the Red watch looking thing on my wrist.

at the dining area while waiting for our turn

The massage was great, the room had dim lights so that you wouldn't feel too exposed when they massage you naked(with underwear). I went for mint oil to be used on my body while Ivy tried the ginger oil. The massage took about 40minutes. GRRRREEEAAATTT!

Dear PARDS

Posted by MKatBautista at 11:36 AM 0 comments

Pards, sobrang mamimiss kita...

See you in time my new guardian angel...
