Our day in U.K.

*Ukay-ukay - the term used for places that sell 2nd hand goods sold at their lowest prices.

My long awaited shopping day with my office friends finally happened! Ley, Sally and I went to a U.K. Shopping Spree! We fondly call Ukay-ukay the term U.K to give it a sossy feel. Besides, some of the goods come from U.K. anyway. You have to be very meticulous and patient in choosing what to buy. It can be an arm exercise, coz you'll be hauling each and every hanger on the rack. Mind you, not all Ukay finds are from previous owners, most of the time they are outdated goods from known stores abroad shipped to the Philippines, like clothes, bags and shoes from Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, and even from the States and Europe. You can even find clothes that still have their tags on.

This is the crowd you'll in see in all Ukay stores. The stores we went to included Ermita, Avenida and Morayta, all in Manila. We didn't want to go that far since we're all from Manila. Sally had a class for her Graduate course at Philippine Normal University so she was only able to be with us in one store along Ermita.Other places that are famous for their Ukay stores are Tagaytay and Baguio.

This is Ley hauling over the blouses for only P70.

Here's a blouse she checked out but didn't end up buying.

I love Snoopy and here's my great Snoopy find! It even has a tag!
A sign that it wasn't owned by anyone yet! For only P70!

Ukay-ukay is one of best places you can shop at when you're in a budget. You'll end up with great finds and signature brands if you're just patient in going through all those racks.

Till next shopping spree!
