UPDATE!

Posted by MKatBautista at 3:13 PM 0 comments
Wow! I never thought I'd make another blog entry here after a long time. I thought I wouldn't find time to blog again since I'm loaded with gimiks and lazy person stuff. I also decided then that I'd blog in my Tumblr account instead but I didn't have the time to update it with full captions so 'lo! Stagnant blogs as it is.

Anyway, a lot has happened in the past few months. Duh? Wait a sec, I dunno about the last time I entered here so Imma just update from where I remember coz I'm too lazy to check my last blog post.

This may be random:

- I found a new job! I'm currently on my 4th month as a Copy Editor at Glad Tidings Publishing House Inc.
- I realized that I have a seeking heart in wanting to know about Jesus, our God and the Bible more and my workplace/mates are more than the perfect people and surrounding I need to develop a stronger faith in Him.
- I now have Ava! My car. A champagne-colored Toyota Avanza.
- I have been involved in a car accident but good thing was that noone was hurt and that the vehicle I bumped didn't freak out even if my vehicle was a little sorely damaged. All is well and Ava is fixed!
- My Dad is here and I am so happy we had a lot of bonding experience together this vacation of his. We were able to climb a mountain and run a marathon and earn a medal with that!

What else?

Ah, some news: Manny Pacquiao lost yet again and Davao is under a state of calamity with 1000 people or so are dead/missing due to Typhoon Pablo.

Let us pray for Philippines' fast recovery over all these trials.

Whirlwind 2011

Posted by MKatBautista at 1:20 PM 0 comments
Whaddaya know? Just like every year.. there'll always be a lot of happenings..

On September, I officially ended my contract with my job as a Copywriter. It was a difficult decision to make but I just had to. Personal reasons and I figured I'd focus on earning my Masteral Degree at UP Online University.

My aunts abroad and my Dad spent a brief emergency leave as well because of my Gramma whom got confined in the ICU at St. Luke's Medical Center, Global City.  We were already preparing ourselves for the worst but Thank God, when my Gramma had the chance to see all her children, I believe it motivated her to fight and get well. As of now she's better, but needs all the assistance with the help of 2 caregivers. Thank you Lord for prolonging her life.

On November, I underwent the most life-changing decision I've ever made, and that is to have Lasik Eye Surgery. I never expected the procedure to last for only about 30mins. The Opthalmologist Dr. Salvador Sison was very accommodating that I wasn't that tensed during the procedure. It was pretty difficult at first with all the eye drop medications and stuff, but HEY! I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW!  No more glasses.

On December, my Dad came back for his real vacation and I'm happy to share that my parents were able to meet my boyfriend's siblings.. most of them.. and this was during a christening celebration of Steve's nephew Roan Carlo, the first nephew in the family.

This is one of the happiest days in my life to date. ^_^

We spent Christmas at our home in Calamba and spent New Year's in Vigan.. my first time to spend New Year's on Steve's side.

T'was a good year, full of changes but they sure made me a better person from before.

Pre-Valentine's Celebration: Maki Day!

Posted by MKatBautista at 10:10 AM 0 comments
Valentine's Day - an annual celebration of love and affection between intimate companions. Usually expressed by giving flowers, chocolates or offering sweet nothings to their loved ones.

MyEm0.Com

This year, Valentine's Day falls on a Monday, a weekday. I usually celebrate it with my Mom who's in Calamba, Laguna. So Steve and I made efforts to go home to Calamba so we could celebrate it with my Mom.

It was a great bonding moment for us coz we made California Maki!

It's not my first time though coz back in highschool my Mom used to make California Maki and I joined while making them. We had a first timer, it was Steve's first time to make California Maki and he enjoyed it very much!

This is the simplest California Maki ever made!

First, we prepared the ingredients:
Japanese Rice, Seaweed for the wrapper, Crabsticks, Mango and Cucumber

We didn't have a sushi roller so we made use of foil to roll the Maki.

Steve did the spreading of Japanese rice on the seaweed ...

then i put the filling...

then Steve does the rolling...

and finally, my Mom cuts them into the cute Maki rolls they are!

SUCCESS!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Hot Air Balloon Festival

Posted by MKatBautista at 8:54 PM 0 comments
We went to the much talked and much awaited festival this love month which is the Hot Air Balloon Festival held at Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. We were accompanied by 2 other couple friends Kat&Eric and Marianne&JR. It was such a superb experience!

First, we all met in Eastwood at 11pm Friday coz we all planned to play bowling first then straight to the bus terminal to Pampanga at dawn coz the schedule of the Hot Air Balloon starts at 5am. We wouldn't wanna be late for the launch of them balloons!

Played bowling at 12am, finished around 1:30am then ate buffet breakfast for 150pesos at Somethin' Fishy then straight to the bus terminal at Victory Liner, EDSA, Cubao.

Took the 4am trip to Dau, Pampanga. Slept the whole trip since we were all full and needed to recharge for the festival. At Dau by 5am, rode a tricycle to the jeep terminal to Clark Freeport Zone then jeep to the freeport zone and VOILA! We're at the HOT AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL!

We bought our tickets at the jeep terminal by the way, for the same price of P150. So when we arrived at the Freeport Zone, we didn't have to join the box office line to buy the tickets. We got in right away. Yay!

BUT, unfortunately, due to the jeep's long detour to get us there, we were only able to catch a few hot air balloons flown away. >__<

Tis okay, we enjoyed the other exciting things in store at the festival, like the kite flying, the car drifting, the sky diving, para-gliding and many more!

Check out them kites all over the sky!

WELCOME 2010!

Posted by MKatBautista at 10:12 PM 0 comments

This I must say, tops all the other new year celebrations I had in my adult life, for I celebrated so many firsts this New Year's Eve..

First, I celebrated without my parents, friends and other relatives.

Second, I'm with my beloved, Steve!*_*

Third, we got no fireworks, just the torotots we bought at the last minute.

Fourth, it's in Manila!

Fifth, unplanned but it turned out just the two of us... how sweet is that! it was fun all the same...^_^

I just loved the feeling of welcoming the NEW YEAR with Steve, sort of like seeing how the future would be like... *cross fingers*

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
